From June 1, 2025, Uzbekistan will introduce a new 5-year residence permit for foreigners who invest in the country. To qualify, applicants must invest $250,000, with an extra $150,000 required for each family member.

Signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the new law aims to attract foreign investors and support the country’s economic growth by boosting business, trade, and exports.

Since 2019, Uzbekistan has allowed foreigners to get residence permits by purchasing property. This new program builds on that approach, offering a simpler and more flexible option. The government will soon share full details, including how to apply, how long it takes to process, and how to renew the permit after 5 years.

While it’s not officially called a “Golden Visa,” the program works in the same way as similar investment visas offered in many other countries.
