Egypt has extended its free 96-hour transit visa program for another year, valid until April 2026. The decision was made on 23 April 2025 during a cabinet meeting led by Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly.
The visa allows travelers passing through Egypt to stay for up to four days and visit major tourist spots like the Pyramids of Giza and the Luxor Temples. The extension aims to boost tourism and support hotels near airports.
The Ministry of Tourism is happy with the decision and hopes more travelers will take short trips to explore Egypt. The visa rules will stay the same, and even though it’s not confirmed if it will be extended again, the program’s success means it might continue in the future.
