The change comes as many Bangladeshi students face challenges due to the ongoing suspension of Indian visa processing. Right now, India is only processing medical visas for Bangladeshis. Thousands of Bangladeshi students have already secured placements at universities in Bulgaria. However, the lack of a Bangladeshi consulate in Bulgaria had previously made India the sole facilitator for visa applications.
In light of these difficulties, the Ministry has initiated this new process to provide alternatives for students looking to further their education in Bulgaria.
