Bangladesh has relaxed its visa policy for Pakistani businesspeople to boost trade and improve regional ties. The update was shared by Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Iqbal Hussain Khan, at a Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GTCCI) event.

He said Bangladesh sees Pakistan as a gateway to Central Asia and wants to support regional growth. Both countries have started giving visas to trade delegations, and their trade is expected to cross USD 1 billion this year.

GTCCI President Bau Muneer said Pakistan and Bangladesh, as the biggest SAARC economies after India, should work together to grow trade. He also said that recent talks have helped improve relations, though Bangladesh raised two key issues — a USD 4.52 billion financial claim and a request for an apology over the 1971 war.
